Last year was a big year for foodies in southwest Missouri. 2019 brought with it the opening of so many great restaurants that it was hard to keep track of them. Of course, as foodies ourselves, we’ve been making the rounds each week trying out new spots all the time. Here is a short round-up of some of our favorites. There are likely many that didn’t make the list, but if you’re looking for a great new place to eat… here’s a good list to start with!

The Workshop at Finley Farms

It’s been incredible to see all the changes happening around the Ozark Mill at Finley Farms. One of the newest additions is The Workshop; a unique coffee shop with a vibrant atmosphere, great food, interesting goods, and a memorable experience that will make you want to come back again and again.

Best of Luck Beer Hall

From the great minds at Good Spirits & Co., Best of Luck Beer Hall is one of our favorite go-to spots for lunch during the warmer months. The atmosphere is light and vibrant, and there’s plenty of fun games to have a good time. Or, just get lost in good conversation with friends while enjoying a beer. We highly recommend their chicken sandwich!

Lucky Tiger Sandwich Co.

This sandwich shop is top-notch. By the same owners who brought you Springfield’s incredibly successful City Butcher, Lucky Tiger is now a regular in our list of places to eat regularly. Be sure to try the Kimchi Tots!

Architect Coffee

After the fallout with Hebrews Coffee closing down, we were ecstatic to see it replaced with an even better coffee shop – Architect Coffee. It’s a perfect place to hang out with a friend, or set up your laptop and work for a while. Definitely try their breakfast items; we love the breakfast burritos!

Char Steakhouse & Oyster Bar

From the same restaurateur who brought you Bijan’s, Flame, and Black Sheep Burger’s and Shakes – Char replaced Touch in 2019. This is a wonderful spot for a special occasion, date night, or happy hour. Try the lobster bisque!

Flat Creek Resort Bar & Grill

In 2019, Flat Creek opened its second location in Republic, MO. This restaurant is truly a special destination and has become a local staple for quality, consistent, and delicious comfort food. You basically can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. But, if you must choose, you may as well go BIG. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday you can get the Crab Boil!

Vantage

One of the most anticipated restaurants and bars to open in 417-land, the Vantage is Springfield’s latest rooftop bar experience. And wow, it is definitely a beautiful view! Weather permitting, make sure you snag a seat outside and try their Braised Beef Sliders with one of their Draft Cocktails!
