Brand Positioning
What is Brand Positioning?
Brand Positioning is the unique position or point of differentiation that you occupy in the marketplace as understood by your customers. It’s your ability to persuade consumer perceptions related to your brand, service, or product as it relates to the competition. The purpose of a market positioning is to create the right message and right image for your brand so that your audience will perceive it in a certain way.
Examples of market positioning:
- A shirtmaker could position itself as a luxury brand, a status symbol of sorts.
- A fast-casual restaurant chain could attempt to position itself as the best option for cheap and fast meals.
- A tech startup may position its service as the most innovative or leading the industry.
Positioning Statement
Positioning Statement is a statement that defines what your brand is, what makes it unique, and why it should be relevant to your audience.
